MSTM PIE 🥧

Martensdale-St. Marys Partners in Education started the same way most great ideas do — with two moms, one conversation and a whole lot of shared excitement from the people they told next.

Just a slice of the story

Partners in Education President Jennifer Dierks Johnston and co-founder Katie Naert were helping with post-prom prep one day when they started talking about how nearby districts hosted adult prom fundraisers for their schools.

How fun would that be? Getting people together to have a great time, and giving back to the school — all in one night. And really, why couldn’t Martensdale-St. Marys do something like that? After all, the needs within the school were clear, and the Blue Devil community always shows up when it’s needed most. So, they decided: Let’s do it.

Those early conversations quickly grew into collaboration with other parents, friends, and volunteers — people with a shared passion for the school and a variety of talents to contribute.

And just like that, PIE was born.

Community pride

What began as a small idea has grown into a dedicated team that works year-round to plan one annual fundraiser that supports the school's greatest needs and celebrates our Blue Devil pride.

At its heart, Partners in Education is about creating a culture built on connection — bringing together people who care deeply about our students, staff and one another.
